Emmanuel’s rise has been rapid. He was signed from Beveren in January 2005 and, in May 2006, was starting the Champions League Final against Barcelona. Like his countryman Kolo Toure, he can play in numerous positions and, in pre-season, Arsene Wenger suggested Emmanuel could be employed on the right side of midfield in the future.
