Wanger Say About Walcott

Head of Arsenal Arsène Wenger was not surprised by Theo Walcott's hat-trick for England, and has praised the maturity of the teenager.

Walcott was in the form of England on Wednesday night against Croatia, netting a trio of goals as Fabio Capello's side claimed a 4-1 World Cup qualifying win in Zagreb.

Wenger led Arsenal Walcott from Southampton in 2006 and gradually has used 19 years of age, more regular first-team basis in a bid to aid their development.

The French tactician is pleased to see that the plan shine off the Croats, but reserved special praise for the way he conducted himself after his feat.

Hero Walcott



The Arsenal youngster a triple bags on Wednesday to help the Three Lions secure an impressive 4-1 victory over Croatia.


The World Cup qualification ensures the success of Fabio Capello's men have taken maximum points from their opening two fixtures on the road to South Africa.

Walcott was the inspiration behind the victory but insists it has already changed its approach to domestic action with the Gunners this weekend.

"I will not get ahead of myself, I will take each match as it has been," he told Sky Sports.

"Obviously when you get home I will watch again and again, but tomorrow all se han ido. I'm looking forward to the Premiership."

Despite remaining modest, Walcott was admitted pleased to see their hard work pay front of goal.

"It was a relief," he added.

"I tend to do a lot of hard work and not achieve that goal I deserve. But the whole team was fantastic."

The 19-year-old is now hope England can build on their showing Zagreb international action when back in October.

"We hope that we can," he said.

"We'll have our positive and negative, out of these games. We are not going to get ahead of us and I am sure if we do we will be okay.

"We just have to put teams on the back foot if we play at home which I am sure will be great."
